One of the largest canvases available for custom designs in a kitchen is the range hood.
From huge chimney-like structures to a simple steel hood, the options for creating a centerpiece over the stovetop are almost endless.
This year, one of the unique metallic touches we added to one of the more spectacular homes showcased in the 2024 St. George Area Parade of Homes was the range hood we designed for the Markay Johnson entry in the parade.

Valhalla
We’ve installed numerous range hoods in St. George Area Parade of Homes entries over the years but the most recent was in the final stop on the 2024 Parade of Homes – the Valhalla. We worked with the builder, Markay Johnson Construction to create a custom work of art that works as a beautiful and functional centerpiece in the kitchen.
With the positioning of the kitchen right off the main living area and adjacent to the dining area, it also creates a beautiful aesthetic seen throughout most of the main floor plan.
Nordic Heritage in a Range Hood
For the design of this range hood we kept in mind the theme we incorporated into several pieces of artwork within the home connected to the Nordic heritage of the homeowner with this range hood.
The brass bars with large black rivets centered on them bring to mind the metallic bands that one would see at the base of a Viking helmet. And the colors bring to mind ancient and aged textures weathered by the harsh Northern climates.
